I have been thinking about the pressure lag and/or surging at the start
and end the test.
This could be caused by either:
A. When the main pressure drops off, the pilot pressure line will start
to flow oil backward from the pilot accumulator--toward the common
valve. Then when the main pumps start to pump, the oil flow will need
to stop, and reverse it-self. We have a column of oil(mass) on a soft
spring(accumulator). Maybe all this takes is a check valve. I copied
you on a email to Rick Arthur.
B. If we have a delay in the Rexroth controls(too slow of a recovery
rate), we could experimentally check this by setting relief valve on
pump to dump everything over the safety relief. This would make sure
that the pump is always running at full volume.
